Central PA Fishing, Hiking and Biking

Clear streams such as Bald Eagle Creek and Spruce Creek, pristine Raystown lake and lush woodlands: a paradise for hikers, anglers, and boaters.

Raystown Lake

It’s considered some of the best fishing in central Pennsylvania -- and anglers have caught state record fish in this lake. The current 8,300-acre Raystown Lake was completed in 1973 by the Army Corps of Engineers. You can find guides to help you snag the catch-of-a-lifetime, or find your own special spot.

Spruce Creek Outfitters

Presidents and their families fish at Spruce Creek. It’s a world-renowned trout stream. We recommend you get started at Spruce Creek Outfitters, but there’s lots of places and people who can help you embark on your angling journey in beautiful Spruce Creek.

State Game Lands

If you’re a hunter, central Pennsylvania is dotted with state game lands for hunting. White-tailed deer is, of course, the most famous game, but hunters come here for small game, bear and more. Directions are to one of the closest state game lands.
